The NFT profile picture is an added feature of the DeFi wallet that allows users to use NFT as their profile picture. It’s a new way to present oneself on social media by creating a digital character, including their friends and pets.
NFT profile pictures are digital art works through which people express themselves online. Each character represents a set of characteristics because of which people collect them.
They are like other NFTs, which are secured on the blockchain and can be traded in exchange of cryptocurrency. Anyone can take a screenshot of these NFTs and use them as their profile picture on different social media handles.
CryptoPunks are the very first examples of NFTs. Larva Labs is the creator of cryptopunks, they released 10,000 unique punks in 2017. An interesting fact about CryptoPunks is that at their initial stage, these tokens were distributed for free but now their price on different NFT exchanges has skyrocketed.
According to Opensea Cryptopunk, #3100 was sold for 4200 Ethereum in March 2021. Another token, blue alien skin, which only eight other punks have, is also trailing at a high value.
The final collection of cool cats has 10,000 images, these were created at a rate of $200 or 0.06 Ethereum. Performing the act of “minting” these NFTs is similar to putting metal coins into circulation.
These cool cat NFTs depict cartoon characters with different facial expressions, hats and shirts. Overall, 300,000 options can be implemented in it. There are nine hidden cats, each with unique features. For example, #500 is an upside-down floating cat and #2288 is just a skeleton.
Users can choose their profile picture from the Edit Avatar page, which is the next step after creating a new wallet account. The DeFi wallet will proceed to the supported NFT account automatically and subdivide NFTs after the wallet name of the imported wallet account is confirmed by the user by clicking on the continue button.
If a user does not have any NFT in the account, the page automatically shows its default icon. Then the user can choose from the available NFT profile picture, it provides a default avatars.
First things first, one has to sign up on Twitter and get the blue tick on the account, which costs $3 per month. Currently, these features are only available on iOS, so the user must be an iPhone user. However, the company is claiming that these features will be updated in Android also in the coming future.
Navigating in Twitter, users have to go to the profile section in the Twitter app and from there they can change their profile to NFT. the individual can get notification from Twitter who is using NFT as a profile picture. The process of adding NFTs to Twitter:
